Position: Regional Account Manager, Asia
Location: Singapore
Report to: Director, Head of Asia Distributor Markets

CLIENT ORGANISATION

Client is a U.S. retailer of footwear and apparel.

PURPOSE OF ROLE

  • Responsible for the development, execution and delivery of the revenue and margin plans for selected distributors within the Asia region in line with company budgets and forecasts.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operational activities within the entire Region, ensuring that existing partners are facilitated to maximize the business potential for the Brand.
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with existing partners to build the Brand whilst maximising sales and gross margin for the Company. Assist and support the Regional Director with new market development, contract renewals and internal reporting.
  • Work cross-functionally within and outside of the Business Unit, develop relationships and broker resources to ensure delivery of regional objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Point of Contact - Partner Management

  • Be the main day-to-day point of contact for the Region and ensure that the partners are facilitated to build the Brand in their markets and deliver on the agreed Brand and Financial objectives. Deal promptly with all communication and communicate with associated departments such as marketing, customer service, finance, product etc. to ensure that queries are answered in a knowledgeable and timely fashion.
  • Oversee claims from distributors on faulty product and ensure that all such claims are channeled correctly internally and dealt with in a prompt manner.
  • Ensure that store openings and wholesale accounts are approved in line company- and contractual guidelines and procedures.
  • Travel to the markets, as directed by the Regional Director, to monitor and assist with all brand building activities.

Business Management, Monitoring and Reporting

  • Responsible for distributing, receiving, undertaking the analysis and acting (where relevant) on all annual business plans and quarterly reports received.
  • Monitor the seasonal order pool versus distributor OTB, company budgets and forecasts. Actively engage in the monthly financial forecasting process and ensure measures are put in place and executed to stem any shortfall in forecasted revenue and margin.
  • Lead the weekly DTS process from a commercial perspective. Take the lead role in challenging the numbers put forward by Customer Service and support the team in resolving any issues that may stop Company from achieving monthly and quarterly financial targets.
  • Develop and monitor the seasonal due diligence reports on customer orders. Investigate and comment on exceptions to agreed tolerance thresholds and elevate issues internally as deemed necessary.

Revenue Generation

  • In addition to maximizing revenue and margin in line with company strategy on a seasonal basis, proactively drive initiatives such as - but not limited to - At-Once business, Excess and Obsolete offers, Seasonal Promotions and SMU business. Manage and coordinate all such initiatives with the relevant stakeholders and ensure the successful delivery of such programs.

Support to Regional Director

  • Support the Regional Director in the day-to-day running of the Region, review the potential of new markets opportunities and undertake research and analysis, including reviewing potential partners for new territories.
  • Provide input and support to Regional Director during the LRP as well as Budgeting process.
  • Lead the preparation of information required for field visits. Maintain Market Plans in conjunction with the Regional Director and develop comprehensive ‘pre-trip’ and ‘post-trip’ reports.

Contract Management

  • Take the lead role in maintaining and enforcing contractual compliance of all distributor partners in the Region. Address contractual compliance issues directly with partners and where necessary, elevate them to a higher management level, including the Legal team.
  • This function will also proactively manage all pending and upcoming legal issues with the legal department in the US through efficient project management and regular calls with the legal team.

Other

  • Support the planning, coordination and execution of forecast as well as sales meetings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • University standard education, a good all round business/commercial background and computer literacy are highly desirable.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is a requirement; knowledge of other relevant languages would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of and commercial experience within the region, preferably within the branded apparel, footwear or sporting goods industries.
  • Account handling and management of third party partners is a requirement for this role.
  • Good all round business knowledge is necessary for this commercial role. Knowledge of sales, customer service, marketing, product, retail, finance and operations are all relevant to this position.
  • Frequent traveling would be required.
